AQUA AIR TECHNOLOGY (2AT)
Another successful development by Plasto Ball® Ltd. is based on the study of the relationship between liquid/water (AQUA) and air (AIR). Increasing the weight of balls can be achieved, for example, by increasing shell thickness or material density. However, there is a much simpler and more cost-effective solution.
Air is vacuumed out of the strong and highly elastic KOGELAN® ball and replaced with liquid, resulting in a perfect medicine ball that is extremely durable, does not tear, does not lose filling, and is much more affordable compared to traditional products. This provides another excellent alternative for strength training.
Further research was then conducted into the relationship between air (AIR) and liquid/water (AQUA).
What if strength or gymnastic training is to be performed in water? If a traditional medicine ball is released, it sinks to the bottom of the pool and must be retrieved. To solve this problem, Plasto Ball® Ltd. introduced a unique solution worldwide:
Since there is liquid (water, AQUA) both inside and outside the ball’s shell, only the shell’s weight needs to be supported on the water’s surface. To achieve this, the density of the liquid inside the ball was reduced. A portion of the liquid was removed and mixed with air (AIR), while a harmless chemical agent was used to break the resulting air pocket into many small bubbles.
As a result, the ball does not slosh, feels solid when shaken, and can weigh up to 5 kilograms while still floating on the surface of the water.
This technology is exclusively used by Plasto Ball® Ltd. worldwide.
Aqua Air
Two important product groups – balls filled with liquid:
- medicine balls;
- floating medicine balls for water polo training.
The shells of the balls are made of a very tough synthetic polymer. The ribbed surface and the character of the material ensure a good grip on the products. Stable quality is ensured by a special valve system.
We have been distributing 9 types of our medicine ball (from 600 g up to 5 kg) for about 12 years, both in Hungary and for export to Europe.
The (subsequently developed) floating medicine balls available in 6 sizes are an excellent option for water polo training, and are starting to be used by top water polo teams (arm strengthening, leg work, etc.)
The balls in these two product groups can be washed with lukewarm water. The products meet the safety requirements to bear the CE mark. The shell is made of a reprocessable thermoplastic material.
